AIR BOWS IN ARCHERY SEASON: YES or NO?
Drew YoungeDyke of MUCC joins us in studio to talk about the new Crossman/Benjamin air bow that fires an arrow. THe company feels that the pneumatic system should be allowed for use during archery season. MUCC says otherwise! To date, these are not legal for use in Michigan. It does not fit into the criteria of the term archery, with the exception that it does use an arrow as a projectile.
NOTE: It is my position that these not be allowed for use during the bow season here in Michigan. It does not fit any of criteria as described by the State of Michigan or by the Michigan Bow Hunters Association that fit the term "bow."
That being stated, I am not totally against the use of this pneumatic firearm by those of a mature age during the course of a regular hunting season.
There is till much to learn about the capabilities and limitations of this particular "air bow" and more research has to be done before a complete decision can be rendered.
