SPRING IS FAWN SEASON - DOUG ROBERTS

Now is the time that does are having their fawns and we humans, will probably come across one of the helpless looking critters and jump right into saving mode.

That is the last thing we should be doing. As much as we want to sav them, there is really no need. Doug Roberts of Conquest Scents, will tell us why we need to leave them alone and when they may need to be rescued.

THE NEED FOR DEER FARMERS EXPLAINED - DOUG ROBERTS

With such strong numbers of white tailed deer in Michigan, why do some feel the need to breed more? More importantly, why do some feel the need to breed huge typical and freakish non-typical bucks?

Doug Roberts, Vice President of the United Deer Farmer's of Michigan and Co-Owner of Conquest Scents, explains the reason and importance of these very questions.

The conditions have made the perfect storm for a tick explosion in Michigan. The "Tick Terminator" Brian Anderson, will explain how we might encounter the tiny arachnids, how to remove them safely and how to prevent them all together.

Our favorite panfish guru is back with great tips on catching spring panfish like bluegill and crappie! Bro is a master at finding and catching big bluegill and helps take advantage of the early ice out conditions.

Since our initial visit to fish Lough Derg in Scariff, County Clare, Ireland, we have done much talk about a return trip and recording another show. Throw in a global pandemic and a few other minor speedbumps and that's what it has been.......TALK!

TARGETING SPRING BASS - DAN KIMMEL, GREAT LAKES BASS

Targeting large and smallmouth bass in the off season has only been legal for a couple of years, thanks to the efforts of Dan  KImmel and bass anglers of Michigan. Anglers can target the species as long as they are caught and immediately released.

Dan will offer up some tips on how and where to find them.

Although the official numbers for the 2021 Michigan whitetail harvest have not yet been tallied, we do have a better idea of how many deer with CWD were reported.

Michigan DNR Interpreter Ed Shaw, fills us in on all of the new classes offered at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Education Center at the Lake Mitchell office and around Michigan. Classes like steelhead fishing, fly fishing and foraging have been quite popular.
