COYOTE CONTROVERSY - DAN BLACK


Another controversy that should not be a controversy at all, has made the Facebook biologists crazy again. Dan Black of Bath. Michigan harvested a rare black coyote and posted it on Facebook. And yes, you guessed it! All of the hate that goes without any research has started. Much like the albino whitetail, the black coyote is just a genetic mutation. Dan Shares his story of how he harvested this beautiful predator, what the MI DNR had to say and what he plans to do with it now.

AQUA-VU BIO-LUME - CHRIS MUNCHOW

Aqua-Vu has added a new tool to the arsenal for hard water anglers. The new Bio-Lume shines a bright light under the surface of the ice and draws in plankton which in turn, brings in bait fish. Well, we all know what happens when the bait fish move in!. Chris Munchow will give us all of the details.

Thanks to channels like the Food Network, people are getting more involved with all types of gourmet food. So why not introduce what we have always known? That wild game is a great source of protein and a renewable resource. This is a great outreach program that could end up changing a few new minds.

MI DNR Upland Game Bird Specialist and long time friend Al Stewart, joins us for conversation about the current state of Michigan turkey licenses and how the bird is fairing since it's reintroduction. The species is still making excellent strides and continues to be a perennial favorite for Michigan hunters. Al is the only person in the world to have caught and released a "World Slam" of wild turkeys! An amazing accomplishment for one of our own.
